Antique American Blue 1920s Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 42 x 51 inches (3'6" x 4'3"). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. It embodies the spirit of early modern design while utilizing traditional quilt block construction. The palette is defined by a sophisticated use of primary colors, employing a deep, saturated black field contrasted sharply with vivid red and brilliant blue elements.
