Antique Peking Small Scatter Size Wool Brown Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional Chinese textile captures the transitional aesthetic of the Republican era. Its compact dimensions make it an ideal small scatter size piece, perfect for adding historical depth to an intimate space or hallway. The palette is defined by a sophisticated range of brown earth tone color rugs, utilizing deep chocolate and warm camel hues to create a dramatic, atmospheric field. This monochromatic background allows the central mythological figure to emerge with striking clarity, accented only by soft blues and coral tones that depict the creature's scales and flowing mane. Dominating the field is a beautifully rendered, five-clawed Imperial dragon, a potent symbol of power and good fortune in Chinese culture.
