Antique Ningxia Chinese Allover Floral Yellow 1890s Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional late 19th-century Chinese piece showcases the masterful weaving tradition of Ningxia, known for its bold designs and distinctive palette. The saturated, luminous yellow field, a rare feature in this condition, places it among our finest yellow color rugs. The design employs an allover scattering of auspicious elements, including stylized vases, blossoming branches, and various symbolic objects rendered primarily in deep indigo and apricot tones. This open composition allows the rich background color to dominate, creating a sense of airy elegance that defines high-quality antique rugs. The contrast between the brilliant yellow ground and the strong, dark blue motifs is highly sophisticated, a testament to the quality of the natural dyes used during the late Qing Dynasty.
