Yellow Open Field Room Size Antique Floral Chinese Art Deco Carpet

This yellow open field room size antique floral Chinese Art Deco carpet is a luminous example of early 20th-century Chinese rugs, where traditional symbolism meets the refined simplicity of Art Deco design. Woven during a period of artistic experimentation, this antique carpet balances decorative elegance with modern compositional clarity, making it both historically significant and visually timeless. The expansive open yellow field creates a sense of airiness and scale, allowing the natural texture of the wool and the subtle patina of age to take center stage. Floating across this luminous ground are stylized floral motifs, rendered with painterly sensitivity and rhythmic spacing. Their placement reflects the Art Deco preference for negative space and streamlined composition, while still honoring the poetic vocabulary of traditional Chinese ornament.
