Yellow Antique Allover Design Chinese Art Deco Room Size Rug

Antique Chinese Chinese - Art Deco 1920s Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the transitional period in textile artistry, blending traditional motifs with the bold, modern sensibilities of the Jazz Age. Unlike earlier imperial styles, this example of Chinese rugs utilizes a softer, more subdued yellow palette tailored for the Western interior design market. The aesthetic is characteristic of the Chinese Art Deco movement, which flourished in the 1920s and 1930s. The design features a complex, repeating lattice structure composed of stylized blossoms and scrolling vines. This dense, non-medallioned structure creates a harmonious allover design that ensures visual interest across the entire field without dominating the space.
