Vintage Chinese Blue 1960s Rug, Circa Date: 1960s. This striking piece is a testament to mid-century Asian textile design, exemplifying the refined pictorial style popular in the era. Its composition is dramatic, featuring a stylized pavilion scene set against a vast, saturated field. This piece is an exceptional example of vintage area rugs that bridge traditional motifs with modern scale and coloration. The central field utilizes a profoundly rich indigo, creating a dramatic backdrop for the complex scenery rendered in contrasting shades of gold, rust, and soft blue. This deep saturation is characteristic of high-quality Chinese weaving from this period. The use of such a commanding shade makes it a standout among blue color rugs, offering depth and gravitas to any sophisticated interior space.
