Antique Sultanabad Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This magnificent example of late 19th-century Persian weaving belongs to the esteemed lineage of Sultanabad rugs, known for their robust construction and grand, architectural scale. It presents a sophisticated, yet approachable, aesthetic ideal for contemporary interiors. The field is dominated by a rich, variegated tone of coral and rust, achieving a depth of color only possible through natural dyes. This vibrant, yet muted, coral color provides a stunning backdrop for the lighter, ivory-toned motifs that traverse the surface, creating a visual warmth that defines the piece. A striking central medallion anchors the composition, radiating graceful, stylized palmettes and delicate meandering vines. The open field allows the intricate floral design to breathe, emphasizing the masterful draftsmanship.
