$45,000.00

Antique Bakshaish Room Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1870s. This exceptional example of 19th-century weaving represents the height of village artistry from the Heriz region of Northwest Persia. Its age firmly establishes it among the most desirable antique rugs available today, showcasing the robust structure and unique aesthetic character of the era. The commanding central field is saturated in a rich, deep indigo, a hallmark of the finest natural dyes, placing this piece among the most sought-after blue color rugs. This intense ground provides a dramatic backdrop for the stylized central medallion, rendered primarily in warm salmon-pink and soft ivory tones, creating a vibrant yet balanced visual tension. Characteristic of the Bakshaish tradition, the design eschews delicate curves for bold, angular linearity.
