Antique American Square Multicolor 1920s Quilt

Antique American Square Multicolor 1920s Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 77 x 79 inches (6'5" x 6'7"). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. The field presents an elegant allover design, where stylized tulip motifs in soft pink and pale yellow are dispersed across a luminous, near-white ground, creating a sense of movement and lightness across the square surface. The palette is remarkably soft, utilizing subtle shades of rose and buttercup yellow against a high-key background.
