Small Square Tribal Antique Geometric Native American Navajo Flatweave Rug

Antique Navajo American Multicolor 1935 Square Rug, Circa Date: 1935. This exceptional example of early 20th-century weaving represents the apex of the Navajo textile tradition, offering a striking geometric composition that defines the American Southwest aesthetic. It is a remarkable piece among our collection of antique rugs. The design employs a powerful series of stacked chevron motifs, creating a mesmerizing visual rhythm across the field. Unlike centralized medallion formats, this dense, repeating structure provides a compelling allover design that emphasizes the hand-woven texture and the natural variations inherent in the wool, characteristic of high-quality flat-weave textiles. The unique square proportions of this textile make it a rare find for collectors.
