Small Size Square Shape Antique Persian Blue Herati Design Bidjar Rug

Antique Bijar Small Scatter Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the famed durability and dense weave characteristic of Bijar production, often called the "Iron Rugs of Persia." The precise knotting and resilient wool ensure this remains a prized example among antique rugs. The commanding field is rendered in a saturated, near-midnight indigo, providing a dramatic backdrop for the complex design. This deep hue, typical of classic Persian weaving, places it firmly within the category of blue color rugs. The pattern itself is a dense, repeating lattice of stylized palmettes and rosettes, rendered in contrasting shades of brick red, sage green, and light cerulean. The design utilizes an intricate, repeating structure that covers the entire field without a central medallion, defining it as a classic example of allover rugs.
