Antique Chinese - Ningxia Small Square Scatter Size Wool Yellow Rug, Circa Date: 1800s. This extraordinary collection of individual mats, woven in the Ningxia region during the Qing Dynasty, represents a sophisticated expression of Chinese textile art. The design is characterized by its bold use of color and precise, classical motifs, making it a highly desirable example among antique rugs. The field is dominated by a rich, saturated tone, placing it firmly within the category of desirable yellow color rugs. This brilliant hue provides a luminous ground for the repeating central medallions, which feature complex floral arrangements rendered in subtle shades of pale blue, rose, and deep indigo. The overall effect is one of imperial elegance and warmth. Each square panel features a highly stylized, symmetrical medallion surrounded by a delicate lattice of scrolling vines and blossoms.
