Antique Baluch Persian Coral 1920s Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of tribal weaving showcases the distinct aesthetic of baluch rugs, characterized by finely detailed, dense geometric motifs. The Baluch people, known for their nomadic weaving traditions across Persia and Afghanistan, produced pieces celebrated for their robust construction and profound depth of color. The palette is particularly striking, featuring rich, saturated tones of deep indigo and earthy browns that provide a powerful contrast to the dominant hue. The central field is awash in a beautiful, faded coral color, lending the piece a warm, inviting glow that speaks to the use of high-quality natural dyes common in early 20th-century weaving. Structurally, the rug employs a tightly knotted construction typical of the region, ensuring longevity and durability.
