Rustic Tribal Geometric Antique Blue Caucasian Shirvan Rug

$4,500.00

Antique Caucasian Caucasian Blue 1900s Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of Caucasian style weaving captures the robust geometric vitality characteristic of the region. The deep indigo field provides a powerful canvas for the complex medallion structure, showcasing the weaver's mastery of traditional tribal iconography. The saturated field, dominated by rich, dark blue color rugs, is punctuated by secondary colors of madder red, sage green, and ivory. The composition features a striking central axis of nested diamonds, framed by a series of meticulously rendered borders that contain smaller, repeating geometric motifs. Unlike rugs relying on a single central medallion, this piece utilizes an allover design where repeating geometric forms—including stars, stylized animals, and hooked elements—are dispersed across the entire field.
