Antique Bijar Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional example of Persian weaving tradition hails from the late 19th century, showcasing the robust structure and enduring quality for which Bijar pieces are renowned. It is a superb addition to any collection of antique rugs. The palette is defined by a striking contrast between the deep indigo of the central medallion and the saturated, warm field color. The rich, earthy tones lean heavily toward the coral color rugs spectrum, providing a vibrant yet sophisticated foundation for the intricate patterning. Woven with the characteristic heavy, compressed wool of the "Iron Rugs of Persia," this piece retains remarkable density and pile height. Its substantial dimensions qualify it as one of the finest room size rugs available from this period, perfectly suited to anchor a grand living space or formal dining area.
