Room Size Rectangle Chinese - Peking Blue Knotted Wool 1900s Antique Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This magnificent piece exemplifies the restrained elegance of early 20th-century Chinese weaving. Its generous dimensions classify it among the most desirable room size rugs available from the Peking tradition, designed specifically to anchor a formal receiving area with profound visual weight. The dominant palette features a saturated, inky indigo field, characteristic of the finest Peking dyes used during this period. This rich background provides a dramatic canvas for the stylized motifs rendered in contrasting soft gold and ivory. Collectors often seek out these specific blue color rugs for their ability to introduce depth and tranquility into an interior space while maintaining historical integrity.
