Room Size Chinese Rectangle Knotted Wool Antique - Peking 1930s Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional Peking piece represents the height of Chinese Art Deco weaving, characterized by its deep, saturated indigo field. Its generous proportions classify it among desirable room size rugs, making it an ideal anchor for a formal living space or grand dining area. The dense, hand-knotted wool pile retains a remarkable luster, emphasizing the depth of the central field. The use of a striking midnight blue, typical of fine Chinese production from this era, provides a dramatic contrast to the border motifs. The design is richly articulated, featuring scattered vases, butterflies, and stylized blossoms across the field.
