Antique N.W. Persian Large Room Size Wool Rug, Country of Origin: Iran Persia, Circa Date: 1860s. This exceptional example of 19th-century weaving represents the finest traditions of Iranian Persian rugs. The saturated, madder-red field is characteristic of the region, showcasing the robust, durable wool and the sophisticated geometric articulation typical of the N.W. Persian style. The scale of this piece qualifies it as one of our most desirable room size rugs, suitable for anchoring a grand receiving area or dining room. The pattern utilizes a complex, repeating lattice structure that defines the central field. This dense, mesmerizing allover design ensures visual interest from every angle and helps conceal wear, a hallmark of practical antique weaving.
