$27,000.00

Antique Serapi Large Room Size Wool Red Rug, Country of Origin: Iran Persia, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of Serapi weaving, originating from the mountainous region of Northwest Iranian Persian rugs, showcases the distinctive geometric interpretation of classical design favored during the turn of the century. It is a powerful piece among antique rugs that define the golden age of Persian weaving. The expansive field is dominated by a rich, deeply saturated red hue, balanced by dark accents in the central medallion and spandrels. The use of this specific red color palette provides warmth and sophistication, highlighting the classic aesthetic often seen in prestigious production centers. While Serapi designs often lean toward the bold and geometric, this specific piece incorporates highly stylized, almost abstract, elements that suggest bold floral designs.
