Antique Large N.W. Persian Persian Geometric Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1850s. This exceptional piece represents the finest traditions of 19th-century Northwest Persian weaving. Its age and remarkable condition classify it among truly rare antique rugs available today. The dense, all-over geometric pattern speaks to a sophisticated village or nomadic aesthetic, prioritizing intricate repetition over centralized medallions. The field is dominated by a deep, saturated indigo, providing a dramatic backdrop for the myriad of stylized geometric motifs. The careful and generous use of this rich, dark shade anchors the design, making it a striking example of blue color rugs. Contrasting hues of ivory, madder red, and subtle teal highlight the repeating diamond lattice structure, creating a mesmerizing visual rhythm that draws the eye down the length of the piece.
