$68,000.00

Antique Chinese - Ningxia Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1750s. This exceptional square example of Qing Dynasty weaving represents the pinnacle of the ningxia tradition, characterized by its open field composition and sophisticated use of traditional Chinese symbolism. The central field is dominated by a rare and luminous coral ground, a hue achieved through complex natural dyeing processes typical of the period. Scattered across this expansive field are various auspicious motifs, including stylized foo dogs, mythical creatures, and floating cloud bands rendered primarily in deep indigo and pale sky blue, offering a striking contrast to the warm background. As a true square room size piece, this carpet possesses the scale necessary to anchor a substantial interior space with its commanding presence.
