Antique Tabriz Large Room Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional Persian weaving hails from the renowned workshops of Azerbaijan, embodying the refined technical skill characteristic of Tabriz rugs during the late Qajar period. The design is executed in the classic curvilinear style, featuring highly detailed, delicate drawing that speaks to the sophistication of its provenance. The expansive field is dominated by a breathtaking, saturated robin's egg blue, a highly sought-after shade among blue color rugs. This serene ground provides a perfect counterpoint to the central, open-format medallion and the surrounding, sparsely placed sprays of stylized blossoms. The overall aesthetic leans toward an elegant garden design, typical of floral rugs from this era, where the negative space is utilized to enhance the lightness of the pattern.
