Rare 19th Century Antique Caucasian Allover Tribal Geometric Kuba Rug

Antique Kuba Caucasian Allover Geometric Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1870s. This exceptional example of Caucasian weaving artistry dates to the late 19th century, showcasing the highly detailed, disciplined geometry characteristic of the Kuba region. Its dense composition and saturated, natural dyes immediately distinguish it among antique rugs. The primary field is dominated by a deep, resonant black-brown, providing a dramatic backdrop for the repeating octagonal and stellar medallions. These intricate motifs are rendered in rich madder red, indigo blue, and subtle saffron yellow. The overall palette is grounded and sophisticated, appealing particularly to those seeking brown earth tone color rugs. A complex system of guard borders frames the central panel, featuring stylized latch-hook elements and a delicate rosette chain, all executed with remarkable precision.
