Antique Bijar Small Scatter Size Wool Brown Rug, Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional Persian Bijar piece exemplifies the "iron rug" reputation of the region, known for its remarkably dense and durable weave. Its compact dimensions place it perfectly among small scatter size rugs, making it an ideal accent piece for an entryway or intimate study. The palette is grounded in natural, undyed wool tones, featuring a striking camel-hued field that provides a warm contrast to the deep indigo and rich madder accents. The skillful use of these natural dyes creates a sophisticated depth, anchoring the piece within the category of brown earth tone color while maintaining visual vibrancy. A bold, stepped central medallion dominates the design, rendered in deep navy and framed by serrated edges.
