Antique Art Deco Chinese Allover 1920s Rugs, Circa Date: 1920s. These exquisite pieces capture the transitional elegance of the early 20th century, where traditional Chinese weaving techniques met the burgeoning Art Deco movement. The result is a refined aesthetic that avoids the stark geometry often associated with the era, instead offering a softer, more organic interpretation of modern design. The field presents a subtle, sandy beige ground densely covered in scrolling vine work and stylized blossoms. The restrained palette, featuring soft coral, pale blue, and cream, speaks to the sophisticated tastes of the period. Such pieces are highly sought after by collectors of antique rugs for their unique historical placement and decorative versatility.
