Antique Oversized Chinese Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece captures the refined elegance typical of early 20th-century Chinese rugs. Its impressive scale and sophisticated palette make it a commanding example of antique rugs designed for grand, formal interiors. The field is dominated by a rich, saturated cobalt, a stunning example of blue color rugs from this period. This vibrant hue provides a dramatic backdrop for the subtle, tone-on-tone geometric fretwork that covers the surface, lending depth and texture without overwhelming the primary design elements. Delicate floral sprays and stylized birds are sparsely scattered across the expansive field, rendered in contrasting cream and pale blue tones.
