Antique khamse Persian Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional example of tribal weaving captures the raw, powerful aesthetic characteristic of Qashqai-related groups in Southern Persia. Its enduring quality and robust construction place it among the finest antique rugs of the late 19th century. The palette is defined by a striking contrast between the saturated madder red of the primary border and the luminous, pale field. This central area is dominated by a rare, soft sky blue color rugs, providing a cool, atmospheric backdrop for the vibrant, stylized floral and star elements scattered throughout the field. A magnificent stepped diamond medallion anchors the composition, rendered in cream and deep red, radiating outward into the blue ground.
