Antique Large Angora Blue Hand Knotted Pile Rug, Circa Date: 1880s. This magnificent example of late 19th-century weaving represents the pinnacle of antique rugs production. Its grand scale and sophisticated palette immediately command attention, defining the space it inhabits with historical gravitas. The field co.gainst the muted blue color rugs foundation, demonstrating the mastery of natural dyes from this era. The design features a monumental stepped medallion system rendered in rich golden tones, framed by complementary spandrels. The overall composition relies on highly stylized, large-scale floral rugs motifs—palmettes, vines, and rosettes—which are characteristic of the revivalist styles popular in Anatolia during the late Ottoman period.
