Large Room Size Antique East Turkestan Neutral Cream Color Khotan Coral Rug

Antique Khotan Large Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Country of Origin: East Turkestan, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of khotan rugs originates from the Eastern Turkestan region, showcasing the distinctive palette and geometric precision characteristic of early 20th-century weaving from this area. The wool pile, finely woven and expertly aged since the 1920s, now presents a softened spectrum of golden tan and faded salmon hues, though originally categorized by its vibrant salmon coral pink color rugs. This subtle oxidation lends the piece a profound depth and patina, highly sought after in truly authentic antique rugs. The central field is dominated by two large, stepped diamond medallions, meticulously detailed with small, repeating geometric motifs that reflect both indigenous Turkic influences and the refined court styles often seen in East Turkestan rugs.
