Antique Large Oval Peking Chinese Knotted Green Color Area Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exquisite example of early 20th-century weaving represents the height of the Peking production, known for its plush pile and sophisticated palette. As a genuine antique rug, it carries the distinct aesthetic of the period, blending traditional Chinese motifs with a Westernized Art Deco sensibility. The field is dominated by a gentle, faded sage green, providing a serene backdrop for the stylized botanical elements. These elements are rendered in soft rose, pale gold, and subtle sky blue, meticulously separated by areas of warm green and ivory / beige tones that define the cartouches and scrolling vines. The resulting visual effect is one of remarkable depth and tranquility.
