Ivory and Blue Antique Peking Chinese Room Size Area Rug

Wool 1900s Rectangle Ivory Chinese - Peking Room Size Knotted Antique Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional Chinese Peking rug exemplifies the refinement of early 20th-century weaving. Its generous dimensions classify it as a true room size rug, designed to anchor a substantial interior space with historical elegance. The field presents a luminous, soft ivory color, providing a perfect canvas for the intricate, deep indigo motifs. This striking contrast is characteristic of the finest Peking production, where subtle ground tones allow the symbolic artistry of the design elements—vases, blossoming branches, and stylized birds—to achieve maximum visual impact. Rather than relying on a central medallion, the composition features an expansive, graceful distribution of motifs across the entire plane, defining it as an allover design.
