Antique Chinese - Art Deco Oversized Large Big Wool Green Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1920s. This magnificent Art Deco carpet exemplifies the sophisticated transition occurring in Chinese rugs during the 1920s, blending traditional motifs with the bold, modern aesthetics of the West. The striking depth of the field, a saturated, moody hue, places this piece among the most desirable green Color Rug examples. The composition is classic Chinese Art Deco, utilizing expansive negative space to emphasize the delicate, naturalistic depiction of flowering branches, birds, and a hanging lantern. Measuring generously, this piece is classified as oversized large, making it an ideal anchor for a formal dining room or a grand salon. The wool pile is luxurious and finely knotted, offering both visual impact and enduring quality necessary for high-traffic environments.
