Geometric Running Dog Border Antique Tribal Native American Flatweave Navajo Rug

Antique Navajo American Gray 1930s Gray Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional American weaving represents the high point of 20th-century textile artistry. Its striking geometric composition and robust construction make it a valuable piece among antique rugs. The Navajo tradition is known for its powerful, graphic designs, perfectly exemplified by the dramatic serrated diamond motifs at its core. The field utilizes a complex, variegated natural wool tone, creating a nuanced gray color that provides a sophisticated, mottled backdrop for the highly saturated accent colors. Deep cochineal red and stark black/brown define the central medallion and the bold meander border, lending the piece a dramatic, high-contrast presence typical of the period's revival style.
