Fine Floral Ivory Background Antique Room Size Persian Garden Design Tabriz Rug

This magnificent room-sized antique Persian Tabriz rug, dating from the late nineteenth century, is a superlative example of the "Paradise Garden" (Bakshaish style) aesthetic, representing the pinnacle of weaving from Azerbaijan’s most prestigious artistic center. Historically, Tabriz was a cosmopolitan gateway where the scholarly traditions of the Safavid court met the bold, expressive energy of the Northwest. This specific specimen is defined by its luminous ivory background—a color of immense prestige that transforms the carpet into a "radiant garden," allowing the intricate botanical details to float with a three-dimensional clarity. The composition is a virtuoso interpretation of the "Garden Design," featuring a sophisticated "all-over" arrangement of oversized palmettes, scrolling vines, and delicate floral sprays.
