$13,600.00

Antique American Hooked - Loop Pile Rug, Circa Date: 1940s. This exceptional textile represents the enduring tradition of American folk art and resourcefulness, employing the distinctive loop pile technique. The resulting texture is robust and highly tactile, setting it apart from traditional woven antique rugs. The composition is defined by a mesmerizing grid of interlocking squares, creating a sophisticated optical effect reminiscent of a tumbling block or log cabin quilt pattern. This highly organized structure maintains an overall sense of balance, characteristic of effective allover rugs where the pattern repeats seamlessly across the entire field without a central medallion. What truly distinguishes this piece is the masterful use of variegated color.
