Antique Bakhtiari Small Scatter Size Wool Rug, Country of Origin: Iran / Persia, Circa Date: 1870s. This exceptional example of 19th-century weaving hails from the Zagros Mountains region, representing the robust, tribal aesthetic characteristic of bakhtiari rugs. Its provenance connects it directly to the rich history of Iranian / Persian rugs, showcasing the deep, saturated dyes favored during this period. The field is dominated by a rare, deep chocolate brown, providing a dramatic backdrop for the highly saturated palette of terracotta, cobalt blue, and ivory. The dense wool pile and sturdy construction confirm its nomadic origins. Measuring in a desirable format, this piece is classified as a small scatter size, ideal for entryways, bedside placement, or layering within a larger design scheme.
