Antique Caucasian Small Scatter Size Wool Brown Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of nomadic weaving hails from the rugged mountains of the Caucasus region, representing the pinnacle of the Caucasian weaving tradition. Woven entirely of durable hand-spun wool, this piece showcases the vigorous, highly individualized artistry characteristic of tribal production. The palette is defined by rich, saturated tones, anchored by a deep, resonant field of brown earth tone color rugs. This grounding hue is dramatically contrasted by striking accents of oxidized indigo, brilliant sky blue, and rust red, creating a vibrant yet sophisticated composition. The practical small scatter size rugs format (6.0ft x 7.09ft) makes this rug ideal for defining intimate spaces or layering over larger floor coverings.
