Antique American Blue Geometric 1920s Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 69 x 87 inches (5'9" x 7'3"). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. This expansive field is framed by a bold, serrated border rendered in a contrasting crimson hue. The interplay between the deep blue and the sharp red creates a dynamic visual tension, elevating the simple composition. While often categorized as a quilt due to its robust construction, the piece is technically a highly stylized quilt, featuring intricate, subtle quilting stitches across the main field that provide texture and depth.
