Blue Tribal Geometric Antique Late 19th Century Persian Room Size Malayer Carpet

$45,000.00

Antique Malayer Persian Blue 1890s Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional late 19th-century weaving from the Malayer region exemplifies the sophisticated geometric style characteristic of Western Persia. The primary field is dominated by a rich, saturated indigo, placing it among the most desirable blue color rugs of the period. The field employs a dense, rhythmic arrangement of repeating stylized medallions and cruciform elements, creating a mesmerizing, horizontal movement across the surface. This highly detailed composition is a superb example of the traditional allover rugs design, ensuring visual interest from every angle without relying on a central medallion. The palette is masterfully balanced, utilizing oxidized terracotta and salmon hues to provide warmth against the cool, dark ground.
