Antique Sultanabad Room Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This magnificent example of antique rugs showcases the enduring sophistication of Persian weaving from the Arak region, known for its grand scale and durable construction. The deeply saturated primary field is rendered in a rich indigo, providing a dramatic backdrop for the complex, stylized palmettes and geometric devices. The use of this striking blue color rugs palette emphasizes the rug's stately presence and depth, perfectly complemented by the oxidized reds and corals of the border. A highly articulated central design is surrounded by intricate secondary elements, featuring stylized leaves and vines rendered in shades of rust, coral, and ivory. This dense arrangement is characteristic of classic floral rugs patterns, offering visual complexity without sacrificing overall balance.
