Hallway Runner (3.08ft x 9ft), Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional piece is a superb example of 19th-century weaving, representing the enduring artistry found in antique rugs. Its dense wool pile and robust structure attest to its age and traditional craftsmanship, making it a highly desirable acquisition for collectors. Origin ? The deep indigo field provides a dramatic contrast for the complex, highly saturated geometric and stylized floral elements. This intricate composition utilizes an allover design, where repeating motifs cover the entire surface without a central medallion, characteristic of many tribal and village weavings from the Northwest Persian region. The masterful use of color is immediately apparent. The primary field is a rich, saturated navy, anchoring the vibrant secondary palette.
