Vintage Mahal Iran Knotted Rug, Circa Date: Recent. This exceptional piece captures the enduring elegance of Persian weaving traditions, presenting a sophisticated interpretation of classic Mahal design. Though contemporary in creation, the quality and palette evoke the timeless charm of authentic vintage area rugs. The field is defined by a complex, repeating lattice structure composed of elongated cartouches and stylized palmettes. This dense, balanced arrangement creates a mesmerizing allover pattern that draws the eye across the entire surface without relying on a central medallion, giving the piece a formal yet highly decorative presence. A rich, saturated palette anchors the design. The primary accent is a striking indigo, providing depth and contrast against the softer, faded ground tones of sand and taupe.
