Antique Yellow Chinese Peking Room Size Wool Rug

Antique Chinese - Peking Yellow 1900s Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This magnificent example of antique Chinese weaving presents a striking visual statement rooted in the early 20th century. The field is saturated with a brilliant, imperial yellow, a hue traditionally reserved for the highest echelons of Chinese society, making it a spectacular example among yellow color rugs. The primary field features an extremely dense, repeating pattern of stylized cloud bands and small, interlocking fret motifs, creating a mesmerizing texture. This complex, repeating structure ensures an allover rugs effect, drawing the eye across the entire surface rather than focusing on a singular central medallion. Four large, circular medallions, rendered in deep navy and rust tones, punctuate the field, providing focal points without disrupting the overall rhythm.
