Antique Malayer Allover Geometric Hand Knotted Hallway Runner Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the finest weaving traditions of West Persia, showcasing the distinctive style of malayer, a region renowned for producing highly durable and densely patterned carpets suitable for both domestic and export markets. The deeply saturated indigo field provides a striking backdrop for the repeating geometric forms rendered in rich camel and soft rose hues. The subtle abrash and gentle fading attest to its age, defining it as a true example of antique rugs that has developed a magnificent patina over the last century. The prevalence of deep indigo grounds makes this a sophisticated selection among blue color rugs. Characterized by an intricate, repeating field design, this rug utilizes an allover rugs pattern that maximizes visual density and movement.
