An early 20th-century Turkish Oushak carpet from around 1900, measuring approximately 518.2 × 579.3 cm (about 17'0" × 19'0"). The composition pairs a soft pink field with a purple-toned border — a delicate, decoratively soft palette that has made this color register among the most sought-after in early-20th-century Oushak production. Oushak takes its name from the town of Uşak in western Turkey, a center of Anatolian carpet weaving since the 15th century. Soft-palette Oushaks of this period are a benchmark in the Western interior-design market. Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
