A monumental early 20th-century Turkish Hereke carpet from around 1920, measuring approximately 609.6 × 762.0 cm (about 20'0" × 25'0") — a true palace-format proportion suited to the largest formal rooms, ballrooms, and reception spaces. The composition pairs a rust-toned field with a lavender border in a near-square format. Hereke is the historic Imperial Turkish carpet workshop town on the Sea of Marmara, founded under Ottoman patronage in the 1840s and historically associated with the highest tier of Turkish formal carpet production. Hereke carpets at this scale are particularly rare on the antique market. Hand-knotted wool. Authentic one-of-a-kind antique.
