Antique Tribal Persian Baluch Square Prayer Rug - Small Scatter Size

$2,625.00

Antique Baluch Wool Blue Hand Knotted Pile Square Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This compelling tribal weaving represents the finest traditions of antique rugs produced by nomadic groups near the Persian-Afghan border during the turn of the century. Its wool foundation and robust knotting speak to a heritage of utility and enduring artistic expression. The palette is defined by a striking contrast between deep indigo, characteristic of blue color rugs, and rich, oxidized terracotta. The field is densely populated with repeating, stylized geometric motifs, forming a classic allover rugs structure that minimizes negative space and maximizes visual texture. Decades of use have rendered a beautiful, low-cut pile and an authentic patina that softens the intensity of the dyes.
