Antique Tahran Persian Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional late 19th-century weaving represents the pinnacle of Persian artistry, showcasing a sophisticated mastery of botanical design. Its impressive scale and detailed composition immediately mark it as a significant antique rug suitable for the most discerning collection. The central field is dominated by a majestic Tree of Life motif rising from a stylized vase, framed by a subtle mihrab arch at the top. This highly symbolic design is rendered with extraordinary precision, featuring delicate vines, blossoming branches, and small birds hidden within the canopy. The complexity of these floral rugs speaks to the weaver's skill and the cultural reverence for paradise garden imagery. The palette is uniquely restrained and elegant, utilizing naturally derived dyes that have aged gracefully.
