Antique American Square Allover Geometric Multicolor Jewel Tones 1920s Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 82 x 84 inches (6'10" x 7'). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. This exceptional textile piece, dating from the early 20th century, presents a vibrant composition defined by rich multicolor jewel tones. The design adheres to a striking allover geometric design, where irregularly shaped patches of fabric—many featuring stripes, plaids, and paisley elements—are meticulously stitched together.
