Antique Square Geometric Layered Brick Pattern American Hooked Rug

Antique Square American Hooked Rug America Multicolor 1930s, Country of Origin: American USA Rugs, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the domestic folk art tradition prevalent in the American USA Rugs movement of the early 20th century. The hooked technique, utilizing repurposed fabric strips, gives the surface a highly textural, almost three-dimensional quality. The square design features a bold, repeating grid structure, creating an allover pattern of rectangular blocks separated by thick, light-toned vertical and horizontal bands. This geometric arrangement provides a strong, architectural foundation for the intense color work within each block, lending the piece a robust, architectural presence. Each rectangular segment is densely packed with a myriad of hues, resulting in a vibrant, highly saturated composition.
